Finding Federal Indian Policy in Fiction

Professor Kasey Keeler
Tuesdays and Thursdays, 11 a.m.-12:15 p.m.
214 Ingraham

In this course we will read a series of exciting novels from authors of diverse backgrounds and tribal nations to introduce and expose students to the field of American Indian Studies. The selected readings, by Indigenous authors, have been selected to provoke interest, to engage, to push students to think critically about American Indian Studies, but more importantly, to provide students an opportunity to learn about, to historicize, and to better understand federal Indian policy.

The Indian Child Welfare Act (ICWA)
